Afterschool Handwriting Clinics   

Open to children of all ages.  Clinics will be held at ABLEHANDS Tutoring 3858 San
Jose Park Dr.   Offering the following clinics:

Fine Motor Gymnastics and Pre-writing/Cutting Skills (Preschool): Emphasis of
clinics are to improve developmental skills necessary for grasp, pinch, cutting, fine
motor skills and pre-writing skills. These areas will increase success for grasping
crayons, writing, managing fasteners on clothing and cutting.

ABC's and Numbers for Me (ages 4 and 5):  Focuses on improving the gross and
fine-motor skills and letter formation needed to improve print skills.  Coloring,
drawing, singing, counting, and handwriting readiness skills are employed to
improve children's skills.  Hands-on manipulatives, games, and activities are
provided for home to improve children's  confidence.

Printing Success (1st and 2nd grade): Focuses on letter formation, eliminating
reversals, improving writing fluency and overall legibility.  Utilizing interactive, fun,
multi-sensory techniques, individual strategies are developed to boost children's
confidence in their handwriting skills.  

Printing Success II (2nd, 3rd and 4th graders): To improve printing skills in the
older child.  (See description above)

Cursive Success (Third, Fourth, and Fifth grade):  Activities and strategies are
taught to improve children's fluency, legibility, and handwriting speed.  Skills
necessary for note taking, completing classwork and homework are developed.  
Activities are fun, interactive, and engaging.  Methods used are adaptive and proven,
utilized by Occupational Therapists Nationwide.

Cursive for Middle School (6th, 7th and 8th graders): Cursive instruction using
creative writing, practice essays for test taking, note taking and interactive activities
to promote legible and increase writing fluency.
Philosophy:  Each child is unique and has abilities that have yet to be discovered.
A child's neurological and sensorimotor system are developing everyday and it requires
consistent opportunities to learn, to develop motor skills and to integrate all the
information (sensory) in their unique environment. Learning should be multi-sensory,
engaging,  purposeful, and fun.

$50 per child/ 1month (4 classes)
One time $25 supply fee which
includes a workbook.
Payment is due at the beginning of
the month.
Discount for siblings.
*Clinics are taught by an Occupational
Therapist and an experienced teacher.
